
Workstation Assessments and DSE Training
OccuHealth can undertake onsite Workstation assessments and provide training for employees identified as a DSE user. A report will thereafter be provided identifying any reasonable adjustments that could be considered in supporting the DSE user.

Vaccinations
Annual flu vaccine
Influenza (flu) is potentially serious, and the symptoms are much more severe than the
common cold. Flu can affect people differently and can cause severe complications including pneumonia, ear infections, sinus infections and worsening of chronic medical conditions, such as congestive heart failure, asthma, or diabetes.
An annual seasonal flu vaccine is the best way to help reduce the risk of getting flu and
every year a vaccine is developed to offer protection against the strains of flu, the World
Health Organisation(WHO) predicts.

Management referrals – absence management support
Management referrals may be suggested/recommended where there is a concern about an employee’s health, performance (where there are health implications) or level of sickness absence. An occupational health assessment can provide impartial and objective advice and information that can assist both the employee and employer in management of these concerns.
The consultations are conducted by a Specialist Nurse or Physician who will complete a thorough assessment of the employees health and how it may impact their fitness to undertake their substantive role; taking into account the applicability of the Equality Act 2010.


Pre-employment medicals
Following an offer of employment; some roles require specific medical assessments to be completed. Depending on the criterion required for the role will determine the level of assessment
required to be completed.
A pre-employment assessment can include a paper screening assessment to identify any potential health related issues or a face to face assessment – thereafter OH provide the company with a certificate regarding the employees fitness for the proposed role.


Health Surveillance and Medical Assessments
Health surveillance provides information, which helps to protect employees from potential illnesses caused by being exposed to health risk at work.
Health surveillance programmes are arranged for workers coming into contact with potential harmful substances (COSHH) and noise (Health and Safety).
Onsite/offsite health surveillance including audiometry screening, lunch function, skin surveillance, fork lift truck assessments, Safety Critical Medicals, Working at Height, Confined Space, Night Worker Assessments, Lone Worker Assessments, Food Handlers and Biological monitoring. and hand arm vibration.

Drug and Alcohol Testing/Monitoring
Drug and alcohol testing can be undertaken as part of a drug and alcohol policy of there may be a case for screening in relation to certain jobs whereby they are considered safety critical.
Drug testing is completed by completion of a 10 point urine test and alcohol testing is completed by use of a breathalyser.
Testing can be completed on or offsite.
